Returned to his best form in 2009 after injury riddled seasons in 2007 and 2008. A key to Melbourne’s back six, Rivers matches up well on opposition talls and has the athleticism to run all day. Not a big possession-winner but is hard at the contest and was in the top five for tackles for the Demons in 2009 with 63. Enters his eighth season and should pass his 100-game milestone this year.
