With a licence to play through the midfield and running out of defence, Davey enjoyed a stellar season and was the only Demon to play all 22 games. His superb skills have always been on display as a permanent forward but moving into the middle of the ground gave him more freedom. Led Melbourne in tackles (90) and brought others into the game with his deft passing. Capped off a fine year by winning the best and fairest and has signed on until the end of 2013.
Draft history: 2004 Rookie Draft selection (Melbourne) No. 3; 2004 rookie elevation (Melbourne).
