The big ruckman struggled to get on the field in 2009, managing just five games because of a foot injury early in the season and a quad problem later in the year. The only highlight was a career-best haul of five goals against Carlton in round 21 when he was played up forward. However, the Demons need him fit and firing in the ruck and sharing duties with the improving Paul Johnson.
