After a stellar debut season, Brayshaw was restricted to just 10 matches in his second year because of lingering concussion symptoms. Brayshaw hurt his knee in the opening game of the NAB Challenge, which interrupted his preparation heading into the season. He su ered two head knocks in three weeks in the middle of the season, leading to an extended rest period. He returned to play the last seven games of 2016 and had a focus on re-learning how he approaches and enters a contest to avoid more serious head injuries. Still only 21, Brayshaw’s leadership and toughness make him an important part of Melbourne’s future.
