MELBOURNE is into a Grand Final.

Dees fans haven't seen those words very often in the last 15 years, but it's true. The Demons have defeated the Roos 70-46.

Melbourne has been the standout across the night and deserve its place in the decider with the winner of the next game, Hawthorn and St Kilda, set to face off in the Grand Final.

Veteran defender Neville Jetta didn't play in the first match but he more than made up for it in that game against North Melbourne.

Jetta (12 disposals) and Billy Stretch (10) were the pick of the Demons, with youngster Bayley Fritsch nailing a team-high three goals.

Billy Hartung's dashing ability (13 touches and three inside 50s) was among North's best, while Luke McDonald looks set for a big year after racking up 11.

The Demons were on top against North Melbourne at half-time of their clash. Billy Stretch won plenty of the footy through the midfield for the Dees, while Tom McDonald was a real target up forward.

The Roos were still in the game and with ruckman Braydon Preuss in the side looked to have the upper hand in the ruck against Christian Petracca.

Fritsch, who is in contention for a round one debut, did his chances little harm tonight.

The young gun from Coldstream booted 42 goals in 19 games in the VFL for Casey last season. Watch his form through the JLT. A definite one to have on your AFL Fantasy radar.
