MELBOURNE has added two players – Jasmine Grierson and Harriet Cordner – to its squad for Sunday’s clash against Fremantle at Fremantle Oval at 3.35pm (WST).

Forward Alyssa Mifsud returned from injury last round, replacing youngster Maddy Guerin. Brooke Patterson came into the side when Grierson was withdrawn through injury in the lead-up to round two.

Grierson missed through injury last week and Cordner was an emergency. They have been named on the extended bench, along with Brooke Patterson, Emma Humphries, Lauren Pearce, Aliesha Newman and Alyssa Mifsud. The final side will be named in the lead-up.

This will be the first of two consecutive interstate trips for Melbourne, with the Demons set to head to the Northern Territory afterwards, where it will play Collingwood in Alice Springs on Saturday, February 24.

The Demons have opened their season with victories over GWS Giants and Adelaide Crows, both at Casey Fields.

The red and blue will then return to Casey Fields, where it will host the Brisbane Lions in round five.

Its final two home and away matches are against Carlton (Ikon Park) and the Western Bulldogs (VU Whitten Oval).

Melbourne will be aiming to make it three in a row, while Fremantle has won one of its two encounters.

Karen Paxman, Elise O’Dea and Daisy Pearce have been among Melbourne’s best performers so far this year.

Ainslie Kemp (knee) and Sarah Lampard (hamstring) remain on the sidelines.
