MICHAEL Hibberd has no doubt the players have come back as a closer squad.

Hibberd said the week-long camp on the Sunshine Coast was a great opportunity to train and build relationships, and he was adamant that's what it achieved.

“I feel like we left the camp as a tighter group,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“I have no doubt.”

Meanwhile, Hibberd said he was unlikely to feature in the upcoming AFLX series.

“We’ll implement the things that we’ve learned over the last month and put the final touches on it in the last few weeks, going into AFLX and then the season proper,” he said.

“We’ll keep training hard for another two weeks and then it’ll slow down a little bit leading into round one.

“I’m not sure if I’ll play AFLX or not – I don’t think I will – but training will stay pretty intense for an extra couple of weeks.”
