NORTH Melbourne's Lindsay Thomas' chances of earning a senior recall have been dealt a substantial blow, with the out-of-favour forward to front the VFL tribunal on Tuesday night.
Melbourne's Jake Melksham has been offered a one-match ban after being cited twice in the same game, while St Kilda forward Paddy McCartin can accept a $500 fine for his late hit on North Ballarat player Tony Lockyer.
Thomas, dropped along with former captain Andrew Swallow from the Roos' side before round six, was reported for a crude bump on Melbourne-listed rookie midfielder Corey Maynard while playing for Werribee on Sunday.
Playing for the Casey Demons, Maynard was stretchered from the field in the first minute of the second quarter after the head-high bump and took no further part in the game played at Hoppers Crossing.
The incident, which has been deemed as careless conduct with severe impact and high contact, has been referred directly to the VFL tribunal, and will be heard at 6pm on Tuesday night.
Thomas kicked three goals – including the sealer in the dying stages of the match – in the Tigers' 13-point win at Hogans Road Reserve.
Melksham was reported for two separate incidents against Werribee player Matthew Hanson in the same match.
Melksham, axed from the Demons' side after playing the first six games of the season, has also been fined $1100 as part of his sanction.
The former Bomber was fined $600 for striking Hanson in the second quarter, with the incident assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.
The second incident saw Melksham offered a $500 fine for striking Hanson in the third quarter, with that incident assessed as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.
If the Demons are to accept the early guilty plea for both charges, Melksham will receive a one-match sanction as a result of receiving two reprimands in the same match.
Melksham collected 30 disposals in a permanent midfield role for the Demons and would have been a chance to return to the senior team against Adelaide on Saturday night.
St Kilda forward McCartin has been offered a $500 fine for a late hit in the second quarter of Sandringham's match against North Ballarat at Trevor Barker Oval on Saturday.
McCartin, pick No.1 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, collided with the Roosters' Lockyer while bracing for contact at the end of a lead.
