AFTER a successful semester 1 program, “Engaging Melbourne” is back for Semester 2.

The program is designed to deliver engagement opportunities for local and international students in a fun and creative way, whilst also creating a sense of belonging to the city, the club, and the football code for international students.

The Melbourne Football Club with the support of Study Melbourne and the University of Melbourne launched the event to staff and students from tertiary education institutions in late February. The semester 1 program saw students race around the CBD for City Dash, hear from senior Melbourne Football Club staff at the Leadership Lunch, as well as enjoying a day out at the MCG.

Some of the benefits of the program include:

-         Making new friends from other universities and colleges

-         Exploring and better understanding the City of Melbourne

-         Building your social and professional network

-         Learning about Australian Rules Football

-         Developing your leadership skills

-         Having Fun

What makes this program unique is the ability to facilitate opportunities for international and local students to work as a team, which fosters social inclusion and builds friendships.

The semester two program will kick off on the 6th of August with a pre-game clinic followed by a day at the football to see Melbourne take on Hawthorn at the MCG. The program will run for 3 weeks, concluding well before the busy exam period.

Registrations for semester two are now open at www.melbournefc.com.au/engagingmelbourne, with registrations closing on the 1st of August. All participants will then be contacted with information via email, as well as via Facebook.
