AS PART of Melbourne’s community work, the playing group visited primary schools in the City of Casey.

The majority of the players were divided across 18 schools in the City of Casey as part of the club’s Read Like a Demon Program.

Read Like a Demon is one of Melbourne’s major community programs, especially through the City of Casey.

The program uses football as a vehicle to teach students the importance of reading, with Melbourne players the primary facilitators.

All students have the chance to post book reviews and even create their own stories as part of the Read Like a Demon Writing competition.

Some schools also participated in leadership discussions, football clinics and question and answer sessions.

Primary school visits are an important part of Melbourne’s community work, which also includes visits to junior football clubs and Auskick centres.
