1. MCG no worries for Dogs
For the first seven rounds of the season, the Bulldogs have played at their home venue, Etihad Stadium. On Sunday, they played their first match at the MCG since the elimination final loss to Adelaide last year. But the change of scenery didn't worry the Bulldogs, who carved up the Demons with their superior kicking and daring run and dash, to record their sixth victory for the season. They have just one more regular season game at the home of football, against Collingwood in round 10.

2. Tackling terrier equals record
Midfielder Tom Liberatore was on record pace, laying 10 tackles in the opening half. He had seven alone in the first quarter and was ferocious on both his attack on the ball and the man. By three-quarter time, the Bulldog had 17 tackles, needing just three to break the record of 19 held by North Melbourne vice-captain Jack Ziebell and former Sydney Swan Jude Bolton. But Liberatore could only manage two tackles in the final term, bringing his total to 19 for the game, meaning he now shares the VFL/AFL record. Today's effort took Liberatore's tackle count for the year to 48, the No.2 ranked tackler at the Bulldogs behind Luke Dahlhaus (50).

3. Max's dog of a day
Over the first seven rounds, Melbourne's bearded big man Max Gawn has been in career-best form. The ruckman's early form had elevated him into the elite category alongside North Melbourne's Todd Goldstein, but against the Dogs he struggled. The duo of Tom Campbell and Jordan Roughead combined to limit Gawn's influence around the ground. While the Demon had 43 hit-outs for the match, he had just six disposals, his lowest tally for the season. This wasn't Campbell and Roughead's first scalp either, with the pair shutting down Goldstein in round six.

4. Demons in hot water
Melbourne's Bernie Vince will have a nervous wait ahead of Monday's Match Review Panel findings after he was reported for rough conduct during the second term. The midfielder opted to bump Mitch Wallis as the Bulldog leaned forward to gather the ball, with Vince's shoulder making contact with the head. Luckily for the Demon, Wallis did not need any treatment and was able to get up immediately, however, Vince's bad record won't help him. He has already missed one game through suspension this year after striking North Melbourne's Jamie Macmillan. To make matters worse for the Dees, defender Neville Jetta will come under scrutiny for a rogue elbow to the head of Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli during a heated scuffle in the final minutes of the second quarter. Cameron Pedersen may also come under MRP scrutiny for a third-quarter incident when he made high contact with Bulldog Fletcher Roberts.

5. Pretty in pink
It was a sea of pink outside and inside the MCG on Sunday for the 10th Pink Lady match. The marquee game was first played in 2006 to pay tribute to Australians affected by breast cancer, and raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia. A mini field of women was planted outside the ground with fans stopping to write a message or tribute on a Pink Lady silhouette, while inside the stadium, fans donned pink ponchos and hats to show their support. Before the bounce of the ball a couple of hundred women and men ran through a pink banner, gathering on the wing together to form a pink heart on the 'G.
