YOUNG gun Angus Brayshaw will be monitored in the lead-up to Melbourne’s clash against Essendon at the MCG on Saturday.

Brayshaw suffered a knock in Melbourne’s loss to the West Coast Eagles at TIO Stadium on Saturday night.

The first-year Demon laid a tackle on Eagle Sharrod Wellingham in the fourth minute of the opening quarter, when the incident happened.

But manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said the Demons were optimistic Brayshaw would be right to play against the Bombers.

“As a precaution, Angus had a neck brace on following the game,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“He has had a number of scans and he has been cleared of any damage.

“He will now be treated for concussion symptoms through the week and be monitored.”
