YOUNG-gun Angus Brayshaw says he’s got the winning taste, after experiencing a fine 39-point victory over the Western Bulldogs at the MCG on Sunday.

Brayshaw, who has played in three Melbourne victories since making his AFL debut in round one this year, said it was up there with the best of his three wins, but he wants to experience plenty more.

“We’ve had a few good wins. All wins are good wins. Give me a few more [wins] and tell you which one’s the best,” he told Dee TV with a big smile after the match.

“It could’ve gone one or two ways there. They could’ve kicked on or we could’ve dug in … and that’s what we did.

“It’s great to win games of footy, so hopefully we can get a few more to string together.”

Brayshaw, who had a personal best 20 touches against the Bulldogs, said he was determined to bring his contested style of play into the match.

And it worked, with the youngster notching up eight contested touches, as Melbourne won the contested possession count: 151 to 136.

“What we’ve been getting away from over the past three weeks is just getting back into the contest,” he said.

“It’s what a lot of my game is built on – the contested side of the game, so I really tried to get in the contest and make some things happen around the ball.

“Everyone in the midfield … did that really well, and I think that’s what got us in the game, winning the ball in the midfield and getting it forward.”
