DOM Tyson says he’s had no regrets moving to the Demons, after he came to the club from the Giants via last year’s trade period.

The talented young midfielder has been one of the many positives under coach Paul Roos this year, with his 32-disposal and two-goal performance against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday a highlight of his season.

After almost one season under his belt in the red and blue, Tyson said it was the right call moving back to his native state.

“I haven’t regretted the move one bit,” he said.

“From the minute I was traded, I was happy to be home and get settled back in Melbourne. I think my footy has reflected that as well. The Giants are travelling well, as well, so I think both clubs are pretty happy.

“I’ve enjoyed my footy in the AFL this year. It’s been good to be able to come back to Melbourne and back home and settle in and play consistent footy.”

Tyson said he wasn’t initially trying to return to Melbourne at the end of last season, but when the opportunity came up, he grabbed it.

“It was just the way the club (Melbourne) approached me – I was really impressed and I felt it was a good time, once I realised it was a possibility to get home,” he said.

Reflecting on Melbourne’s 2014 season, Tyson said the four wins could’ve been up to nine had it not dropped six matches by 20 points or less this year.

“It could’ve been a five game better season [in 2014],” he said.

“If we can be around the mark at three quarter-time in each game, then hopefully we’re winning more games than we’re losing.”
