JANE Scoble is a breast cancer survivor, Melbourne Football Club supporter, and will be attending Field of Women 2014 at the MCG on Saturday May 10, before the Melbourne v Western Bulldogs evening match.

Breast cancer has been a part of Jane’s life for as long as she can remember. Her mother passed away from breast cancer when she was a child, and in 2009 Jane went through her own diagnoses at the age of 48. “After being diagnosed I found my life calling, and I now want to do as much as I can to help raise awareness and support other women and families going through it,” says Jane.

The mother of two has been a Melbourne supporter for many years, continuing to support her team through thick and thin. “I have been supporting Melbourne for as long as I can remember. My cousin who is a year younger than me is an avid supporter, so I must have been 6 or 7 when it all began”.

Breast Cancer Network Australia’s (BCNA) Field of Women has particular significance for Jane, who is incredibly passionate about breast cancer awareness and the impact the illness has on women and their families. This year will be Jane’s second time participating in Field of Women. She attended the 2010 event in Melbourne, and describes the experience as truly amazing.

“This year I am going to stand on Field of Women with my daughter Sam and my son’s girlfriend, Christie. I am also going to meet up with lots of other pink sisters, who I have met through various breast cancer organisations including BCNA”.

“I’m excited to be a part of an event that really shows the impact of breast cancer, the number of men and women who are affected every year, and meet other breast cancer survivors and friends.”

Breast Cancer Network Australia’s Field of Women event is on Saturday 10 May 2014 at the MCG, just before the Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs evening game.

Everyone is welcome to take part – you don’t have to be a breast cancer survivor or even a woman to take part.  MFC is encouraging all our supporters – men, women and children – to join us for this special event.

Tickets are on sale now for $55 and include a pink poncho, back pack and entry to the game.
