I like playing midfield … but I reckon [I play my best footy] on the half-back flank and wing.

HE’S PLAYED as a forward, midfielder and defender, but Neville Jetta says he’s been working under the tutelage of backline coach Jade Rawlings over the summer to add greater flexibility to his game.

Although Jetta said he was likely to play down back in 2013, he said there was also the possibility that he would continue as a utility for the Demons.

“I’m training with the defenders at the moment to add a few more strings to my bow, so I can go right through back, mid and forward,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“At this stage, I’d say I’ll be playing more in the backline and maybe on the wing, and up forward on occasions.

“We’ve got a few new recruits who will be able to fill a few holes that I don’t need to fill anymore, so it helps me out.”

But in terms of where Jetta likes playing the most and what he thinks his best position is, it sparks two different responses.

“I like playing midfield. There is a little bit more freedom. You’re not being followed like you are in the forward line, and in the backline you’ve got to follow someone.

“But I reckon [I play my best footy] on the half-back flank and wing.”
