Digital Demons, aims to help educators empower teachers and their school communities to be safe, responsible, and savvy as they navigate this fast-paced digital world. The four week program kicks off on the 26th August with a Professional Day for teachers, who will be the key drivers to facilitating the program in schools.
Jack Watts is the ambassador for the program, and actively participates, sharing his own experiences with the online world.
The digital age brings with it great online educational, social and entertainment resources and experiences. There are now almost 17 million online users in Australia - that's almost 80 per cent of our population - so using a computer or your mobile to access the Internet has become an integral part of our day-to-day lives.

The program empowers teachers by providing them with media rich curriculum resources so that they are able to confidently deliver and address the real issues in the cyber world in their teaching and learning programs. Teachers will be provided with;
- A day of professional development which focuses on
- Promoting citizenship in the digital age
- An overview of current research and issues being experienced online by young people
- Best practice in digital citizenship resources and responses in schools
- A comprehensive teacher handbook, containing a scope and sequence of units, a series of lesson plans and multimedia resources
- A student resource, providing student activities linking in with VELS
Students will strive to obtain a Digital Demons License through a series of online and practical activities. The program will conclude with an event celebrating the students’ learning and achievements.
Robyn Treyvaud, founder of CyberSafe Kids, will facilitate the professional development program for teachers and will be instrumental in the development of the program. Robyn is the Director of Global Education for IKeepSafe working with schools and their communities nationally and internationally in the area of cyber safety.
