Casey Demons Coaching Staff

Now in his seventh season with the club, Rawlings has been appointed senior coach of Melbourne’s VFL affiliate team, Casey Demons, for 2018. He was previously Melbourne’s backline and defensive coordinator. An interim senior coach at Richmond, coaching the final 11 games of the 2009 season, Rawlings also coached Coburg Tigers during his time at Punt Rd. He then spent two seasons with the Brisbane Lions before joining Melbourne in September 2011. In 2016, he was accepted into the second intake of the AFL coaching accreditation course, level four program. Rawlings played 148 AFL matches, including 116 for Hawthorn from 1996-2003, 29 for the Western Bulldogs from 2004-05 and three for North Melbourne in 2006.

Stinear joined Melbourne in September 2016 and also works as our AFLW senior coach. A small defender/midfielder in his playing days, Stinear was vice-captain of the 2002 under-18 Vic Metro team and on Carlton’s rookie list in 2003. In 2004, he won the Grogan Medal with Mt Gravatt – the Brownlow Medal equivalent in the AFLQ. He spent 2011-16 as an administrator/coach with Oakleigh Chargers, and coached them to back-to-back flags in 2014-15 and to the preliminary final in 2016.

Radford serves dual roles with the Casey Demons VFL side and the Melbourne AFLW team. He coached Parkdale in the VAFA from 2011-16, which included back-to-back flags in 2011-12 and runner-up in 2014. He is a AFL level three accredited coach. Radford has coached St Bedes College since 2011, where he is a teacher. Radford played in the TAC Cup for Sandringham (Prahran) Dragons in 1995 and later for Sandringham Zebras in the VFA/VFL from 1997-2004.

Damien Keeping was named Casey Demons inagural VFLW coach on the eve of the 2018 season.

Keeping has a strong track record in women’s football, most recently serving as Carlton’s inaugural AFLW coach for the 2017-18 seasons. Keeping also coached the Western Bulldogs against Melbourne in the 2016 women’s exhibition game before the AFLW started.

Prior to joining Carlton, Keeping was involved in the Calder Cannons TAC Cup program as an assistant coach. He also coached the Victoria Metro youth girls and was involved in other academies.
